Presentación
El Instituto de Investigación Geológico y Energético (IIGE) es una institución pública comprometida con la generación y la promoción de conocimiento en el ámbito de la geología y la energía, mediante investigación científica, asistencia técnica y servicios especializados, contribuyendo a la toma de decisiones en beneficio de la sociedad.
Conociendo la realidad profesional, técnica y académica de Ecuador, así como la coyuntura energética que atraviesa el país, hemos considerado necesario, de forma urgente, retomar la realización del Congreso Internacional I+D+i en Sostenibilidad Energética. Este evento, en pausa desde 2021 debido a diversos factores, está destinado a promover, debatir y difundir temas fundamentales para la gestión del conocimiento y la formulación de políticas públicas que garanticen seguridad y sostenibilidad energética, así como una transición energética planificada, técnica y orientada a resultados. El Congreso Internacional I+D+i en Sostenibilidad Energética es una iniciativa que nace en 2013 y que actualmente cuenta con cinco ediciones, realizadas durante los últimos 12 años, en los que se contabilizan:
- Más de 100 charlas ofrecidas a través de conferencias magistrales, exposición de proyectos de investigación y presentación de posters científicos.
- Más de 1500 personas han asistido a las conferencias y cerca de 5000 personas a las ferias y eventos paralelos organizados.
- La participación de más de 60 empresas e instituciones nacionales e internacionales ha avalado y apoyado la realización del Congreso.
Con este propósito el IIGE se ha comprometido los días 18 y 19 de noviembre de 2025, a realizar la VI Edición del Congreso Internacional I+D+i en Sostenibilidad Energética, con la temática “Seguridad y Transición Energética”. Este evento científico constituye un espacio académico en el que se presentarán ponencias magistrales, sesiones técnicas y exposición de pósteres; y, será desarrollado de forma presencial
Overview
The Institute for Geological and Energy Research is a government public institution dedicated to generating and promoting knowledge in geology and energy through scientific research, technical assistance, and specialized services, thereby contributing to informed decision-making for the benefit of society.
Given the professional, technical, and academic reality of Ecuador, as well as the current energy situation the country is facing, we have deemed it necessary to urgently resume the International Congress on R&D+i in Energy Sustainability. This event, on hold since 2021 due to various factors, is aimed at promoting, debating, and disseminating topics fundamental to knowledge management and the formulation of public policies to ensure energy security and sustainability, as well as a planned, technical, and results-oriented energy transition.
The International Congress on R&D+i in Energy Sustainability, launched in 2013, has held five editions over the past 12 years, during which the following milestones have been recorded:
- Over 100 talks delivered, including keynote lectures, research project presentations, and scientific poster sessions.
- Attendance of more than 1,500 people at the conferences and nearly 5,000 at the organized fairs and parallel events.
- Participation of over 60 national and international companies and institutions, which has endorsed and supported the realization of the Congress.
With this purpose, IIGE has committed to holding the VI Edition of the International Congress on R&D+i in Energy Sustainability on November 18 and 19, 2025, with the theme “Energy Security and Transition.” This scientific event offers an academic platform for presenting keynote lectures, technical sessions, and poster exhibitions, which will be held at a venue to be announced later this year.
Objetivos
Fomentar y evidenciar los avances en investigación científica aplicada en sostenibilidad energética.
Encontrar alternativas útiles y factibles para garantizar seguridad energética y modelos de transición energética sostenibles en el tiempo.
Promover la elaboración de artículos científicos y el relacionamiento entre investigadores nacionales e internacionales.
Involucrar a especialistas e investigadores de alto nivel con el sector productivo y los tomadores de decisión.
Objectives
Promote and showcase advances in applied scientific research in energy sustainability.
Identify useful and feasible alternatives to ensure energy security and sustainable energy transition models over time.
Encourage the development of scientific articles and foster collaboration among national and international researchers.
Engage high-level specialists and researchers with institutions, companies, and public & private corporations that participate in the production of goods and services.

En el marco de las ponencias magistrales, sesiones técnicas y exposición de pósteres se presentarán investigaciones desarrolladas por la comunidad académica, científica y por el sector productivo, convirtiendo al VI Congreso Internacional I+D+i en Sostenibilidad Energética en una plataforma abierta y participativa para la sociedad.
